LOS ANGELES, CA – Amanda Bynes was arrested for driving under the influence after getting into a minor accident with an LAPD officer.
The 26-year-old actress’ father claims his daughter was not intoxicated at the time of her arrest, but Bynes herself has yet to comment on the situation.
“She was not drunk,” Rick Bynes told People magazine. “I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.”
Rick Bynes went on to defend his daughter, saying the officer who arrested her was at fault for the accident because he pulled out in front of her as she was making a turn.
He also said his daughter was “upset and very emotional” over the incident, and the officer blamed this response on intoxication.
Bynes was issued a citation and released on $5,000 bail.
