CHICAGO, IL – Two people were injured following a pickup truck crash on Monday night in Illinois.

According to officials, the truck crashed into an entrance at the CTA’s Red Line 87th Street station just above the Dan Ryan Expressway at around 9 p.m.

The pickup truck, which was heading west, jumped over a curb and crashed through the station’s glass double doors.

Chicago police explained the truck driver was suspected of having committed another offense right before the collision occurred. He was being held pending DUI charges by state authorities.

Two people were injured in the crash and were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. One of the victims sustained serious-to-critical injuries while the second was listed in fair-to-serious condition.

Authorities have not explained whether the victims were inside the pickup truck or if they were CTA passengers.
