GALVESTON, Texas – A driver responsible for crashing into and subsequently killing two people and their dog on Galveston’s Seawall Boulevard has been charged with DUI manslaughter.
Matthew Green Shelton, 27, will be booked into Galveston County Jail after he is discharged from a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. He and a passenger in his car are currently in stable condition at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
The accident occurred on Wednesday just after 6 p.m. when Steven Louis Hunt, 42, and an acquaintance were walking a dog on the Seawall. Both people and the dog were hit by Shelton when he lost control of his car.
The identity of the second victim has yet to be released pending family notification.
