HARTFORD, Vt. – A Lebanon, New Hampshire man was arrested for drunk driving on Monday night.

The suspect, identified as Joseph M. Gaines, 45, was arrested after local police were called to a nightclub where an intoxicated man was threatening to shoot people.

According to police, Gaines left Shenanigans Night Club before they arrived just after 11 p.m. However, witnesses gave authorities a description of his vehicle as well as its license plate number.

Gaines was eventually pulled over on Sykes Mountain Avenue and was not armed. Police also added that Gaines never displayed a weapon during the altercation at the nightclub.

Although he was not charged with a weapons violation, Gaines was arrested for driving under the influence.
