HOLLYWOOD, California – Nickelodeon star Ryan Rottman has been arrested for driving under the influence.
Rottman, who currently stars as Joey Colvin on the drama series Gigantic, was arrested in Hollywood by the LAPD on Thursday night. According to authorities, Rottman smelled of alcohol when police pulled him over for driving erratically.
Police issued a field sobriety test, which Rottman failed, and blew a .19 after police tested his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level. This number is over twice the legal limit of .08 percent.
Rottman, 27, was then arrested for DUI and taken into custody but was released after a few hours without bail.
Louisiana-born Rottman has starred in films such as The House Bunny, The Stuntman and The Open Road. The young actor is currently dating fellow Nickelodeon actress Victoria Justice.
Driving under the influence, or DUI, is a serious crime, punishable by several penalties which include expensive fines, driver’s license suspension, community service and imprisonment. A DUI conviction can completely alter a person’s life for the worst, affecting their chances of both getting and keeping a job in addition to financial matters and sometimes even civil rights. If you have gotten charged with a DUI, speak to a top DUI lawyer right away to contest your charges.
Working with a DUI attorney can ensure that your case will end with the best possible outcome. Your paralegal will investigate the incident thoroughly, speaking to police and witnesses to uncover the real details of what occurred on the day of your arrest. If your DUI lawyer discovers that you were falsely charged, either because your arresting officer had insufficient proof of your intoxication or issued you a faulty breathalyzer test, rest assured that you will not suffer punishments for a crime you did not commit. Your paralegal will make sure that your charges are either significantly reduced or wiped out altogether.
Different states have different DUI punishments, but driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is never acceptable. The higher your BAC level is, the worse your punishments will be. And in most states, if you have incurred a previous DUI conviction, your new penalties will be even stricter. However, there are many times in which motorists are charged with DUI undeservingly. There is only a small window of opportunity to contest your charges, so speak to an elite DUI attorney right away for assistance.
