Sara Rabern, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Marty Jackley’s office, confirmed that “an employee” of Jackley’s was arrested on a DUI charge
According to court records, attorney Doug Barnett, 40, of Sioux Falls, was arrested on one count of DUI and one count of open container Sunday afternoon near Yankton after being stopped by Officer Dan Thompson of the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
This is Barnett’s first DUI offense. He has been suspended from work without pay for 30 days, and must undergo alcohol evaluation and treatment, including round-the-clock monitoring.
“Any criminal matter will be handled as with any other case,” said Rabern.
