The suspect, Cerena Barros, 23, of San Jose, was involved in a series of DUI crashes beginning at around two in the morning. Barros drove a 2004 Jeep Cherokee onto westbound Interstate 80 at the end of the Bay Bridge using the Fourth Street on-ramp, which was closed for construction.

A California Highway Patrol officer tried to stop her, but Barros sped away and exited the freeway at the Mission Street/Van Ness Avenue off-ramp. Barros continued heading south to 15th and Natoma streets, where she crashed into a parked car, which in turn, hit victim Aaron Wells, who had been walking on the sidewalk with his bicycle. Wells suffered minor wounds to his legs and was treated at San Francisco General Hospital.

After crashing into the car, Barros continued to 17th Street and South Van Ness Avenue, where she crashed into a traffic-signal box and knocked out signals at the intersection. CHP officers finally arrested her and charged her with suspicion of felony hit-and-run, evading officers, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and other charges related to controlled substances. Her blood-alcohol level was over 0.08 percent, the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle, according to CHP.

California Highway Patrol pulled Eubanks over around 2:45 a.m. Friday morning in the Hollywood area. He was booked into jail at 3:15 a.m., but was released after posting $5,000 bond.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Thursday, hours before his arrest Eubanks posted on his Twitter account urging people to attend a woman’s birthday party at the Roxbury. They didn’t have any other details on his arrest, other than his arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 7^th.

Since the NBA team is dealing with the firing of Coach Mike Brown. Eubanks arrest has been lost in the noise, but they are aware of the situation.

Duane Crecelius, 52 of Ojai, was driving a truck when he lost control and ran off the road. The truck then struck a large boulder. When compared to last year’s totals, the number of DUI arrests in Los Angeles County during the Labor Day weekend has been slightly higher, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials.

DUI attorney Ivan Golde said there was “better than 50 percent chance” his client was not drunk when arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving over the weekend.

Lynch was charged with DUI Wednesday in Alameda County, Calif. Tests revealed his blood alcohol content was at .08 percent, which the state considers legally intoxicated.

According to California Highway Patrol, Lynch, 26, was arrested and taken to the Santa Rita Jail, where he was cited and later released.

Authorities say Lynch took a chemical test to determine his level of intoxication and the results will be forwarded to the Alameda County district attorney’s office to determine whether or not Lynch will be formally charged with driving under the influence.

California Highway Patrol explained the incident took place just before 2 p.m. on April 29. Dorothy Smith, 72, of Oakhurst, was driving her 2001 Chevy Tahoe northbound on Highway 41 when she crossed into the path of a southbound 2004 Toyota Tundra being driven by Dustin Fisher, 43, of Coarsegold.

Smith and Fisher collided head-on, pinning Smith inside her vehicle for roughly 40 minutes. Paramedics extricated Smith from her SUV with the Jaws of Life and transported her to an area hospital for a broken arm, broken ankle and possible internal injuries.

Fisher also sustained a broken ankle and possible broken ribs and was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment.

Fisher had two passengers in the vehicle, Sean Elliott, 43, of Oakhurst, who was not injured, and Elliott’s 11-year-old son, who sustained possible internal injuries and was transported to Fresno’s Community Regional Medical Center for care.

Following the crash, CHP arrested both Smith and Fisher on suspicion of DUI. Smith was believed to have been under the influence of prescription medication while police believed Fisher was under the influence of alcohol.

California Highway Patrol arrested 274 motorists on DUI charges in Los Angeles County over the weekend, compared to 228 arrests in 2010.
