North Carolina Teen Drunk Driver 300x225RALEIGH, North Carolina – A Millbrook High School student has been charged with felony DUI for causing a car crash that killed his 17-year-old passenger.

According to police, 16-year-old driver Garrett Prince lost control of his Jeep SUV just after 2 a.m. Saturday, ran off the road, crashed into a mailbox and then into a tree. Police reported he was traveling 75 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Prince, was treated for injuries at WakeMed, and now faces charges of felony death by motor vehicle, DUI, careless and reckless driving, speeding, driving with an open container, and possession of marijuana. His passenger, Elizabeth Molloy, 17, also a Millbrook High School student, died at the scene of the accident.

Prince is scheduled for his first court appearance on Monday.
