Connecticut – A woman was charged with DUI after crashing her car into a Connecticut liquor store.
Sharon Brooks, 63, of East Haven, says Nyquil and Armor All are to blame for the Friday afternoon crash. Police report Brooks crossed over a sidewalk and crashed through the front entrance of Yankee Discount Liquor at 664 Foxon Road around 2:30 p.m.
The car made it about halfway into the store, crashing into displays and injuring an employee. The worker sustained minor injuries and was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Brooks was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving, however, she says it was not her fault.
Brooks admitted to having taken cold medicine because she was sick. She also said that the inside of her car had been recently cleaned and Armor All was put over her brake pad, making her foot slip.
“I never had the whole inside of my car cleaned before and this time I did so it would look really nice, and my foot slipped off the brake,” she contended.
