Posted in WYOMING – A former Wyoming Technical Institute student pleaded guilty to drunk driving charges Wednesday after crashing into and seriously injuring a University of Wyoming student in February.
Timothy Robert Lund, 21, pleaded guilty to DUI causing serious bodily injury to another and aggravated assault and battery, both of which are felony charges. Lund could face up to 20 years in prison and may also have to pay fines high as $15,000.
In exchange for pleading guilty, the prosecution dismissed one count of misdemeanor reckless driving and recommended a split sentence at the Albany County Detention Center followed by intensive supervised probation.
Lund also agreed to pay restitution to cover both the victim’s medical expenses and the damages he caused to three vehicles near the scene of the accident.
